There's a particular kind of light that settles over Whitstable in August — golden, unhurried, the sort that makes you want to bottle it and keep it for darker months. We can't bottle light. But scent, it turns out, comes remarkably close.
In the studio this week we've been thinking about home fragrance not as an afterthought but as a small act of place-making. A well-chosen scent can do what a photograph can't quite manage: it can put you back on the beach, back at the harbour, back in that slow, salt-warmed afternoon, without you ever having to leave your hallway.
Layering scent like you'd layer a room
Our approach to home fragrance mirrors how we'd style a room — in layers, not one single statement piece.
